Portage Lake, Alaska Elopement

First of all, the views in Alaska are insane, and I could photograph weddings and elopements there for the rest of my career and probably still be happy because being in the mountains will always be my HAPPIEST environment. I don’t know what happens…Maybe it’s because breathing in the air always feels the freshest, maybe it’s because sometimes the views of being so high up make you feel so small, but it gives me such a freeing feeling. Ya feel?

Anyways, these images are from an insanely gorgeous styled elopement on Portage Lake from day one of the Wander Workshop hosted by the most beautiful soul ever, Dawn! For any photographers reading this looking for learning opportunities: Consider going to one of Dawn’s workshops! I’ve known Dawn ever since she shot my senior photos, and every time we’ve met up since then she always leaves my heart SO full - I KNEW if i were to attend her Wander Workshop that it would be amazing no matter what because I know her personality to be so genuine, and I have never met a more open book. She brings amazing instructors and educators together, and creates the freakin best shoots. I jumped into this workshop in Alaska with no expectations, since I’ve never attended a workshop before, and I can honestly say I was overwhelmed in the BEST way. I took away knowledge, new friendships (!!) and of course a TON of photos.

Every single person involved in this styled Alaska Elopement I’m OBSESSED with - and the work that was put into it was crazy! Flowers shipped from Portland, ORegon and I mean LOOK at that giant bouquet by Brier and Ivy (but honestly no surprise there because they always create magic.) Also, that flowy bohemian dress looks like it was meant for a wedding in alaska…

you may also notice Jordan and Lacey are basically tattoo goals so I’ll just have to note that Jordan is a tattoo artist, and did most of Lacey’s tattoos as well. Can’t decide if that’s the most romantic thing I’ve heard or the most badass. To be decided. But PLEASE go checkout their instagram links below because they are some of the kindest people and they share so much of their love story and wanderlust habits. :’)
