Backstage Bakery & Cafe - The End

a tribute to the favorite local spot that made us feel at home

Pictured: Alex and I the day before closing . You were the best “boss” I ever had. The only one I ever had before becoming full time in wedding photography, but the best nonetheless

My hometown won’t be serving anymore sticky buns, my main “let’s catch up on all things important in life” brunch with friends spot is no more, my first job, and one of Cottage Grove’s most treasured, (and in my opinion) one of the few gems we have back home. This place has been the core of the community for a long time. I won’t do justice to try and lay out the epic story that has been Backstage Bakery, but yesterday I went in for my last breakfast scramble, and I took a few photos.

The term “Work Hard, Play Hard” is what best describes the owners’ transition in life. Thank you to the brothers of backstage. You have obviously been the most talented bakers and chefs, but you’re even more than that; artists. You have kept the bakery open and thriving whilst you poured your hearts into it, but now I can’t wait to see you take your talents and artistry to another level, and to see where you end up on your crazy adventures in this next chapter.
