it’s called Ron’s pond, and I was lucky enough to shoot a very lovely and very Oregonian wedding there this summer. everything was incredibly down to earth from all the bridesmaids in cute (and WAY comfy) birkenstocks (you know I was all for wearing my pair too,) to the bride making her own cake adorned with succulents and ferns. The mother of the groom, Frayne, also did an incredible floral installation on the alter as well as all the bouquets and floral decor! I was blown away by all the family seamlessly putting this gorgeous woodland fairytale wedding together! Dannica and Kyle’s sister in law even coordinated! Hurrah for family and a double hurrah for succulent party favors for after the bride and groom left in their getaway car. My succulent is in my window now and I love the fun keepsake and memory from this special wedding - It was just such a great one! I mean, I met so much of their family and friends whom I now adore and I think laughed the hardest when Kyle told me the cutest backstory:

Dannica & Kyle met through some matchmaking mutual friends, and when they first were introduced to each other Dannica spilled her drink, later on when Kyle needed an excuse to text her, he pretended he had spilled on himself just to start a conversation.

Ah that first stage of having a crush though! And now just look at their wedding! We also joked it might be fitting if one of them accidentally spilled something at their reception, but they were safe.

A PHOTOGRAPHERS REVIEW ON RON’S POND FOR A WEDDING VENUE:

as far as this venue goes, I hope i shoot many more at Ron’s pond. From all the beautiful trail spots in the forest behind the pond (where we did the first look,) the pond itself, and both the ceremony and reception spots - it has been one of my favorite wedding venues this summer. On the more technical side in case you’re a bride or groom to be, bathrooms were plentiful (in-door ones and porta potties) plus the parking area was very spacious! Their website says the space is equipped for up to 150 guests, and it truly feels like you are in the woods. Such a peaceful (and photogenic) pond and a charming place to say “I do.”
