Anjelica & Steven’s Hartley Botanica Wedding
IKEA is the place where it all began for this love story. In 2017, Anjelica and Steven both worked in the store. Steven began to fall hard for his coworker, Anjelica. In her words she said “He was always trying to get my attention while I always looked the other way.” The universe has a way of making sure soulmates end up together though, and they reconnected later on at a party. Finally, Anjelica gave him a chance. 5 years later, they were engaged and planning their dream wedding!
Originally wanting to have their wedding in Hawaii, a sentimental place for them, they instead opted to keep things closer to home so more family could join in on the celebration. They paid homage to Hawaii by planning a beautiful design concept. Their Hartley Botanica wedding would have a modern Hawaiian flare with monochromatic neutral colors complemented by the pops of green from the palm leaves and monstera. Hartley Botanica ended up being a perfect fit as it’s filled with tropical foliage.
I loved the unique touches Anjelica brought to the vision. She’s now a talented interior designer and you can tell by all the details how good her design eye is!
A&S had so many fun aspects for guests (like late night churros) and a traditional Hawaiian money dance where friends and family could gift cash and have a moment to dance with the couple. The entire day was a dream with so many touching moments…if I had to choose a favorite, it would be Anjelica’s first look with her father in the Hyatt hotel where they got ready. Although Anjelica and Steven’s first look also brought the water works and I can’t help but feel the emotions all over again when I look through these images.

She’s definitely one I’ll want to keep around and if I could, my husband and I would hire her in every lifetime for all of our weddings.”

What Is Hartley Botanica?
Hartley Botanica is a fully functioning 2.5 acre nursery and premier wedding venue located in the heart of Ventura County, with multiple ceremony spots to choose from throughout the property. The location used for this wedding was the Paliuli Gardens, or known as the Hawaiian equivalent to the Garden of Eden. There you will find yourself immersed in the tropical foliage, surrounded by water features, and guided by the ivy covered arches.
