Lisa and Ethan’s Griffin House Wedding in Hood River, OR

Love knows no bounds, and for Lisa and Ethan, their journey led them to the breathtaking landscapes of the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. More specifically, one of my favorite venues, The Griffin House.

As their wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their love not only for the wedding day, but for their engagement session as well at the Oregon Coast. From the moment I met them, it was evident that their connection was something truly special and that they loved Oregon as much as I do. When Lisa and Ethan shared their plans of traveling across the country for a destination wedding at The Griffin House, I knew it would be an unforgettable celebration. Family and friends followed them to Oregon to witness their union, eager to partake in the joyous occasion set against the stunning backdrop of the Columbia River Gorge.

The morning of the wedding was filled with anticipation and excitement as Lisa and Ethan prepared to exchange vows. As the ceremony unfolded amidst the windy Gorge weather and live string players, there wasn't a dry eye in the audience.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape, the festivities continued well into the night. Under the Griffin House’s reception tent, Lisa and Ethan danced the night away under their beautiful floral installation of carnations by Noble Floral Co.

Each detail of their day was absolute perfection, the entire vendor team for this day did such an extraordinary job, and the design orchestration was executed stunningly by their planner, Curated Mess Co. I’m so grateful to have been able to not only provide these photos for Lisa and Ethan, but also to have worked alongside such talented Portland wedding vendors!

What is The Griffin House?

The Griffin House is a luxury wedding venue set along the Columbia River Gorge on the Oregon side. The property is known for its 120 year old house and stunning cliffside views - it is one of my favorite venues due to the photogenic lighting even inside the house, making getting ready photos just as beautiful as the rest of the day. I also love the attention the staff puts into each and every couple, and I’ve truly never worked with a better venue staff! Another huge bonus of this wedding venue is the proximity in which everything is placed throughout The Griffin House. Meaning the layout is very convenient and you only have to step outside the backdoor to reach the ceremony site, and the reception tent is steps away from that. It’s truly a perfect layout for a venue and won’t leave you exhausted walking from one celebration to the next

Where Is The Griffin House Located?

4168 Westcliff Dr, Hood River, OR 97031

The Griffin House is located 5 minutes west of Hood River, OR. Making it the perfect destination wedding option. Hood River is a charming little town with lots of great food and accommodation options for guests. It’s also only 60 miles east of Portland, so it’s very convenient if you’re local to Portland or even planning on flying into Portland's airport, and the closest airport to the Griffin House, PDX.

Extra information you need to know for The Griffin House Venue:

Guest count limit: 175 people

Parking: Onsite parking is available for smaller events; shuttles are required for larger events

Getting Ready Spaces: The main house has three stories, with a separate entrance option to the lower space, making it easy for privacy between wedding parties if needed.

Planning: The Griffin House requires a Wedding Planner or Day-Of Coordinator for your wedding day. They have pre approved vendors they love to work with, so reach out to their team!
