Jess and Soo’s wedding at The Langham Pasadena was a much welcomed trip down to sunny Southern California! As an Oregon wedding photographer, I shoot lots of local weddings and elopements, but I also travel to Los Angeles a couple times a year. Jess and Soo were 100% worth the trip, and I couldn’t wait to share their beautiful wedding photos with you!
I was originally connected with Jess & Soo through Frankie and Louise, an event planning company based in Southern California. We worked together a while back at a microwedding in Joshua Tree, CA (check out the blog here!) so I was stoked to work with them again. I got so excited when I found out they referred me to Jess and Soo, and I knew their wedding was going to be a dream with Frankie and Louise by their side. Every event that they plan and style is guaranteed to be not only aesthetically beautiful, but well-organized, too. They promote such a great vendor environment - it’s always a pleasure being around them for weddings!
I was so thrilled to shoot at The Langham Pasadena as well! This venue is a stunning space with several options to choose from, including ballrooms, courtyards and gardens. They hosted their reception at the Georgian Ballroom, which holds up to 200 people for a wedding reception! The stained glass windows, golden ceilings, and unique artwork provided a luxury experience for the couple and their guests. If you’re looking for a Pasadena wedding venue, I would highly recommend checking this one out!
A Modern Los Angeles Wedding with a Sprinkle of Tradition
Jess and Soo combined their modern style with a mix of Korean traditions for their wedding. They both loved the look and feel of anything vintage, so they easily agreed to this venue after one visit. They had a pastor officiate in the Korean language and it was such a beautiful ceremony that catered exactly to Jess and Soo.
The Lagham Pasadena has so many options on their property for ceremony spots - their ceremony was held at The Japanese Garden, which was a lush area tucked at the bottom of a small hill. It provided such soft, dreamy light as the sun went down behind the trees. I also loved the non traditional configuration of their guests on both sides of the bridge and how Jess walked around the creek and up behind Soo for the aisle.
One thing that stood out to me was how much emotion J & S couldn’t contain throughout their day. It was incredible to witness the immense amount of love between them, especially for their first look and ceremony. Jess couldn’t hold back her tears when seeing Soo for the first time after she got ready, and then it was Soo’s turn to break down when Jess walked up during the ceremony. You could feel just how much these two valued each other and just couldn’t wait to be married and celebrate their love!

The hotel offers a complimentary house car for guest use upon request fro 9am-9pm daily. The car travels within a 3-mile radius of the hotel and is available on a first-come, first-served basis - no reservations.
